The George Seaman Scholars

George Seaman (1943-2003) was a devoted teacher of students of Project STEP. He taught students of all ages and levels in the program. George's blend of humanity, generosity, enthusiasm and excellence made him an ideal mentor of Project STEP students. For many of his students and their families, George was an ideal guide. His enthusiasm and warmth bubbled over with all of them. They not only grew to love making music, but also learned valuable lessons in discipline and responsibility. George loved his students dearly, often referring to the younger ones as "cherubs" and "little angels."
Each year, one to three outstanding students in Project STEP's Training Division (Grades 1 to 7) will be recognized as "Seaman Scholars" in order to honor the memory of a wonderful friend of Project STEP.
