Dear Friends and Families of Project STEP,

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. I appreciate the time and space to recharge my wellness and focus on family, friends, love and think about what’s really important.

To me, and I believe we share this, it’s our kids. Not just my very own (amazing) two kids, but the children of the next generation and specifically – the incredible young musicians of Project STEP.

As Executive Director serving Project STEP, I am inspired every day; I work with an incredible team of people – our administrative staff, our board of directors and advisors, our community partners, teaching artists, and of course, our very own students, families, and alumni.  It is our community that makes Project STEP truly special – thank you.

Undoubtedly, 2020 has been a challenging year for all of us.  However, despite the challenges, our students continue to show up online and be active participants in their private lessons, theory classes, chamber music rehearsals, Saturday workshops, and recitals, and a host of other activities. It’s incredible the amount of energy, time, passion, and drive our community has – thank you!!

I am thankful to all of you – as we continue to be champions for our students at Project STEP.  We all play a role in making a better, more equitable future for our next generation of musicians, community members, and leaders.

Have a truly wonderful Thanksgiving, with gratitude – Alyssa A. Lee
