Project STEP presented its Martin Luther King Jr. celebration on Monday, January 16, 2017. This annual event is a chance for Project STEP families, staff, faculty, Board, friends, and the surrounding community to come together to honor the life and legacy of MLK Jr., and consists of ensemble performances by all Project STEP students. Continuing a recent tradition, this celebration also included a panel discussion featuring Project STEP students, faculty, parents, and local musicians of color on the intersection of classical music, race, MLK’s legacy, and Project STEP. New this year, Project STEP students presented their submissions for a Martin Luther King Jr. poster and essay contest.
